The POOL Foundation was originally formed in 1994 as a non-profit (501 (c) (3) community organization to raise funds needed to reopen the Dr. O.R. Nevitt Swimming Pool after two decades of closure. The POOL Foundation stands for People Organized to Operate Leisure activities.  Major renovation was completed to update the pool for reopening in 2002 thanks to the POOL Foundation’s hard work to raise both private and public funds.  The POOL group has successfully ran the pool since then with community volunteers. Today, the pool is in great need of updates and maintenance as it has had much facility deterioration since it’s renovation. The City is taking over all general operation and maintenance, however, the fees needed for all the repairs are much more than the city budget can handle.

The POOL group has recently regrouped with all new Board Members and fresh ideas to get the pool back in great working condition to continue serving all the people of North Pacific County.  The POOL Board has great plans to apply for grants and work hard along side the volunteers of the community to fundraise in order to cover the costs of the much needed repairs so our community continues to have a safe place to learn and play. But, we need the community to step up help! Fundraising, donations, volunteering, are always needed! If we cannot successfully fund the difference in costs of renovations, the city cannot continue to operate the facility. If you’d like to donate towards the Pool Board, you can pay through our donate portal, or mail to:
