FIRE-POLICE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

The Civil Service Commission is made up of three persons appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The Commission oversees the work of the Chief Examiner who provides fair entry and promotional examinations based upon job analysis, maintains ranked hiring registers, and investigates appeals of disciplinary action. Each member volunteers to a term of six years.
